Not a Substitute for Veterinary Examination
The information, weight tracking graphs, care checklists, and assistive tools provided by CavyLove are for educational and observational purposes only. CavyLove does not provide medical diagnoses, clinical advice, or treatment plans. Only a licensed exotic-pet veterinarian can evaluate, diagnose, and treat health conditions in guinea pigs.
Recognizing Serious Symptoms
Because guinea pigs deteriorate rapidly when ill, serious symptoms warrant immediate professional evaluation. Contact an exotic-pet veterinarian or emergency clinic promptly if your cavy displays any of the following:
- Reluctance or complete refusal to eat food or hay
- Noticeable drop or absence of fecal pellet output
- Labored, noisy, or rapid breathing
- Hunched posture, squinting, or audible teeth grinding
- Extreme lethargy or unresponsiveness
- Sudden, unexplained weight loss
